Richard J. Hamilton, III
Founder, President and CEO
Richard J. Hamilton, III is the Founder, President and CEO of Principle Energy. Richard is responsible for running and overseeing all facets of the business.
Richard attended Louisiana State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. During his College tenure, Richard studied abroad in Perth, Australia at Curtin University.
Richard resides in Houston with his beautiful wife and young son (with another on the way). In his off time, Richard enjoys spending time with family, friends, mountain biking and kiteboarding.
Vice President, Acquisitions and Business Development
Mark McCary is a business development executive with over 20 years of experience in the energy, construction and health care industries. Mark is a member of the executive team at Principle Energy and is responsible for leading the acquisition, marketing, and business development departments.
Before joining Principle Energy, Mark spent a decade leading business development and marketing teams at two leading oil and gas pricing and analytics companies. Mark has a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business from the University of Redlands.
During his downtime, Mark enjoys travel and fishing wherever they are biting and especially spending time with his wife and two teenagers. He believes in giving more than one receives and tries to practice this approach by volunteering time with his local church and his son's Boy Scouts troop.
Caroll joined Principle Energy, LLC in 2010 as Operations Manager. She oversees the daily operations of the company, including management of the company’s internal database.
Prior to joining Principle Energy, Caroll worked in the Valuation Advisory Services Practice in the Houston office of Ernst & Young from 2006 to 2010.
Caroll has a B.S. in Economics (International Trade & Finance) from Louisiana State University, E.J. Ourso School of Business. During her college tenure, Caroll completed one year of studies at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada.
In her time off, Caroll enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the culinary and art scene in Houston, and traveling and exploring other cultures.
Senior Acquisition Manager
Christopher Williams has been in the Oil and Gas Industry for 14 years, having acquired thousands Oil and Gas leases while working some of the largest oil and gas fields in the United States. This includes a hefty amount of leadership experience managing several crews in the field. Christopher joined the Principle Energy team in 2015, adding years of customer service and experience to its Acquisition Department.
Christopher is now the Senior Acquisition Manager and has closed on over 150 transactions since joining the company.
Christopher spends his free time at soccer tournaments following his daughter who is aspiring to play D-1 soccer, running, hunting, fishing and track days on his Ducati.
John W. Adams, III
Mineral Asset Manager
Mr. Adams is the Mineral Asset Manager for Principle Energy and oversees all activity related to the company’s mineral and royalty interests across the United States.
Prior to joining Principle Energy in 2015, Mr. Adams managed all field landwork for Penn Virginia Oil & Gas, LP’s operations in the Eagle Ford Shale. He is a Registered Professional Landman and an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Houston Association of Professional Landmen, West Houston Association of Professional Landmen & San Antonio Association of Professional Landmen.
He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Outside of the office, he and his wife, Cara, can usually be found at the family ranch or fishing on the Texas coast.
Senior In-house Landman
Chris joined Principle Energy, LLC in 2015 as a member of Principle’s Land Department. He runs and oversees the company’s title due diligence process for new acquisitions, where he is responsible for all phases of the due diligence process.
Prior to joining Principle, Chris worked several projects as a Petroleum Landman, spanning from the Barnett Shale to the outskirts of the Eagle Ford.
Chris graduated from Texas Christian University with a BA double major in Mathematics and Economics, and from there, headed off to Texas A&M University to secure an MS in Economics.
When not diligently at work, Chris enjoys firing up his Kindle and burying himself in a good book. While he has an interest in just about everything, he’s developed a particular interest in books covering the history of ideas, as he hopes to one day figure out “what’s it all about?” Sadly, he’s still not all that close in this regard.
